THE ISSUES

Protecting Our Schools, Children & Teachers
Educating our children is vital to our growth and our future. Protecting those who work everyday to educate our kids is equally important. I want to continue to fight everyday to champion the issues our school districts and teachers face everyday. I have always listened to those who work in the trenches everyday about the true needs and demands of making our public education state of the art across the nation.

Supporting Public Safety Officers

Lowering Property Taxes & Fighting for Reform
Like you, I am a property owner and a business owner. Every year, my family, just like yours, must fight against unsupported property tax appraisals inflated. Also like you, my business must also fight for our rights. I am ready to continue to work hard in Austin to ensure the burden no longer falls on us to protect what we work so hard to build.

Investing In Jobs & Economic Development

Protecting Aid To Our Seniors & Veterans
Our senior citizens and veterans are part of our precious population. Their well being and interests must be safeguarded. They worked for us and fought for us and now it's our turn to keep fighting for them. I want to continue to work across partisan lines to ensure they never go without the care and essentials they deserve.

Investing In Healthcare For Families
Our police force and first responders need a constant addition and growth of resources and funding. As criminal activity increases and levels of catastrophes expand, so should their departments. They put their lives on the line everyday for the protection and safety of our communities and families. I want to continue to fight every day and night to protect them and safeguard their interests.
The economy in Texas and Bexar County is constantly evolving. Our local leadership must receive support necessary to ensure continued expansion of businesses and commerce. We must continue to work together to help develop a state of the art workforce and to grow economic developmental opportunities for large corporations and our small and locally owned businesses. As a local business owner, I understand the daily challenges and competitive obstacles. I will keep fighting for growth and development that benefits everyone.
Texas should be a leader in not only education, and jobs, but also healthcare. It is our job to make sure no family or family member go uninsured or underserved. Establishing access to quality healthcare is vital to the safety and well being of all Texans. As a Hispanic female, I understand all the health issues I am pre-disposed to developing. I will continue the fight to make sure our communities have equal access to health care, emergency care, and basic preventative care.

Investing In Transportation
Like you, I spend countless hours in traffic. I also spend my hard earned dollars on constant tire repairs because of damage to my vehicle caused by ill-maintained roads. We need to make sure there is equity with appropriation of funding for projects. We also need to support our local leaders when they fight for equitable federal dollars. I will continue to fight in Austin to ensure Bexar County and House District 119 has funding and resources for our transportation needs.

Protecting Our Tradesmen
Texas businesses succeed when they are empowered with a strong workforce. Making sure we have the best educational opportunities to build an army of a skilled workforce will only result in our success and growth. We also need to protect our skilled and experienced workforce who have spent years helping build up businesses to provide for their families. I will aways fight hard in Austin to ensure our businesses and tradesmen continue to thrive.

Homelessness
Homelessness is not only a problem in Bexar County and House District 119 but throughout the State of Texas. I have spent the past few years working with our local leaders and organizations to help ensure our neighborhoods and communities are safe and working to resolve the homelessness problems. Many members of our homeless population are struggling to manage mental health issues and substance abuse issues with out resources or a support system. Many are also struggling with barriers to finding jobs, getting to those jobs, and maintaining those jobs. We need more resources and access to resources. I will continue to work hard to make sure everyone gets equal access and treatment.
